Does it come with a thermometer?

No. The GB8003 has no built-in thermometer or temperature gauge. Plan on a probe thermometer or an add-on lid gauge.

How much propane does 104,000 BTU use?

Running all eight burners at full output burns roughly 2 lb of propane per hour, so a standard 20 lb tank lasts about 10 hours at full blast. Cooking at lower settings stretches that considerably.

Can I use it for smoking or infrared searing?

Not as built. There is no smoker box and no infrared burner, so low-and-slow smoking and infrared-style searing need accessories or a different grill.

Is $449.99 a good price for this grill?

At $449.99 at Home Depot as of November 6, 2026, you pay about $56 per burner for an eight-burner, 947 sq. in. grill. That is low for the size, though 8 stores list it new, so compare before buying.

How hard is it to assemble and move?

Assembly is generally described as straightforward, but the grill weighs about 139 lb gross. Set it in place before the party and use two people to move it.
