Our take on the Ruko U11MINI 4K Drone

The Ruko U11MINI is a sub-250g folding camera drone aimed at beginners, with a 4K camera, GPS return-to-home and a rated top speed of 31 mph. Ruko's headline claim is 96 minutes of total flying time, which comes from a multi-battery kit rather than a single charge. At $284.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, so it is not a bargain moment.

Best forFirst-time drone pilotsTravelers who want a light, packable droneBuyers who want extra batteries in the boxCasual aerial photos and video
Pros
  • Under 250g, so no FAA registration is required for recreational flight in the US
  • 4K camera with GPS return-to-home and follow modes
  • 31 mph top speed is quick for a beginner drone
  • Multi-battery kit gives long total flight time
  • Folding arms make it easy to carry
Cons
  • 96 minutes is combined across batteries, not per flight
  • No obstacle avoidance, so crashes are on the pilot
  • Small sensor and electronic stabilization limit low-light footage
  • App and firmware updates can be fiddly
  • At $284.99 it is near its high, not a deal

Questions and answers

Is the Ruko U11MINI worth it for a beginner?
Yes, if you want a light GPS drone with a 4K camera and spare batteries without spending DJI Mini money. Skip it if you need obstacle avoidance or strong low-light video.
Does 96 minutes mean one flight?
No. That figure is total time across the batteries included in the kit. Expect roughly 20 to 25 minutes per battery in normal conditions.
Do I need to register the U11MINI with the FAA?
For recreational flying in the US, drones under 250g generally do not need registration. Check current rules, and note that any added accessories can push it over the limit.
How does it compare with a DJI Mini?
The DJI Mini line has better cameras, stabilization and app support. The U11MINI competes on price and on the number of batteries in the box.
What comes in the box?
Typically the drone, controller, several batteries, a charger, spare props and a carry case. Confirm the exact bundle with the store before buying.
When is it cheapest?
