- Is this drill worth it for a homeowner?
- Yes, if you are already on the Ryobi ONE+ platform or want a kit with two batteries. The brushless motor and 450 in-lbs cover furniture assembly, shelving, deck screws and light drilling. It is not built for all-day jobsite use.
- How does it compare with the brushed Ryobi ONE+ drill?
- The brushless HP version runs cooler, lasts longer and delivers more torque per battery charge. It costs more up front. If you drill only occasionally, the brushed model is enough; for regular use the brushless is the better buy.
- How long do the 1.5 Ah batteries last?
- Expect roughly an hour of mixed driving and drilling per battery, less under continuous load like hole saws. The charger refills a battery in about an hour, and two are included so you can keep working.
- Can it drill into masonry or concrete?
- No. This is a drill/driver with no hammer mode. For brick or concrete you need a hammer drill or rotary hammer, such as Ryobi's ONE+ hammer drill.
- What is in the box?
- The drill/driver, two 18V 1.5 Ah lithium-ion batteries, a charger and a tool bag. Bits are not included.
- When is the best time to buy it?
- Ryobi kits see their deepest discounts around Black Friday, Father's Day and Ryobi Days events in spring. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.
