Is this rug good for a hallway?

Yes. The 4 by 6 foot runner size and stain-resistant synthetic pile suit hallways and entryways. Add a pad so it does not slide.

Does it need a rug pad?

It is thin and can slide on hard floors, so a pad helps with grip and comfort. A pad also softens the feel underfoot.

Vacuum regularly and blot spills with a damp cloth. The synthetic pile is stain-resistant, but avoid soaking the backing.

Is it soft enough for a bedroom?

It is on the thin side, so most owners use it in halls or under furniture. For a bedroom, pair it with a pad or choose a plush rug.
