Is the top real wood?

No. The tabletop is MDF with a white finish, not solid wood. Use coasters and wipe spills quickly, since MDF can swell when wet.

The top is 31.5 inches across and the table is 17.75 inches tall. That fits a small sofa or a pair of chairs but is tight for a large sectional.

Does it need assembly?

Yes. The legs attach to the top, which takes basic tools and a few minutes. Check the leg bolts after the first week of use.

Will the legs scratch my floor?

The black metal legs can mark hardwood or tile. Felt pads under each leg prevent most scratches.
