Our take on the Salonmore Portable Outdoor Propane 225,000 BTU 3-Burner Camping Stove

The Salonmore Portable Outdoor Propane Stove is a three-burner propane cooker rated at 225,000 BTU, built for large-group cooking at campsites, tailgates and events. It folds down with removable legs and runs on high-pressure propane, so it can drive big pots and griddles that small camp stoves cannot. Its 34.25 x 17.72 inch cooking area and 5.51 inch burner heads put it in the same class as outdoor event cookers rather than backpacking stoves. No current price was supplied, so compare its latest best price against its own recent range before buying.

Questions and answers

Is 225,000 BTU too much for normal camping?
Yes for small pots and pans. This stove is meant for large pots, griddles and group cooking; for two people, a 20,000 to 30,000 BTU two-burner stove is easier to control and uses far less fuel.
How long does a propane tank last?
A standard 20 lb tank holds about 430,000 BTU, so running all three burners flat out empties it in under two hours. Cooking on one or two burners at lower settings stretches a tank across a weekend.
Does it come with a regulator and hose?
High-pressure three-burner stoves of this type usually ship with a regulator and hose for a standard tank. Confirm the box contents with the seller before ordering, since listings vary.
Can I use it on a wooden deck or table?
No. At this output the stove and pots get very hot, so use it on a fire-safe surface outdoors, well away from walls, tents and overhangs.
How big is it when folded?
The legs are removable, which lowers the packed height, but the 34.25 x 17.72 inch body stays large. Measure your vehicle before buying if space is tight.
When is the best time to buy?
Outdoor cooking gear tends to be discounted in late summer and around major sales events. Track its price history and buy when the current price sits near the low end of its recent range.
