Our take on the Samsonite Mobile Solution 2 Deluxe Backpack

The Samsonite Mobile Solution 2 Deluxe is a wheeled backpack in canvas with a zip closure, built to roll through an airport and carry on your back when the floor is rough. The hybrid design suits short business trips and commutes where you switch between rolling and carrying. At $79.99 at Kohl's as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with three stores listing it new.

Questions and answers

Is the Samsonite Mobile Solution 2 Deluxe worth it at $79.99?
At $79.99 at Kohl's as of November 5, 2026, it is a low price for a wheeled backpack from a major luggage brand. It makes sense if you want one bag that rolls and carries; skip it if you need hard-shell protection.
Does it fit under an airplane seat?
It is a soft-sided wheeled backpack, so it generally fits in the overhead bin and often under the seat when not overpacked. Check your airline's personal-item dimensions before relying on underseat storage.
Can the backpack straps be hidden when rolling?
Yes. The shoulder straps tuck away so the bag can be pulled by its handle without straps dragging. That is the main reason to pick it over a standard rolling briefcase.
How does it compare with a hard-shell carry-on?
It is lighter and more flexible but protects less. A hard-shell spinner is better for fragile contents and rough handling; this bag is better when you need to wear it on stairs or uneven ground.
What is the warranty?
Samsonite backs its luggage with a limited warranty against manufacturing defects, typically covering wheels, handles and zippers. Keep your receipt, since some retailers handle claims directly.
When is it cheapest?
Wheeled backpacks like this discount most around back-to-school and Black Friday. The current $79.99 at Kohl's is already near the bottom of its recent range.
