Is the Galaxy Z Flip 5 worth buying at $699.97?

At $699.97 at Target as of November 5, 2026, it is a reasonable buy if you want a folding phone and do not need the newest model. It launched at $999, so the discount is real. Compare it with the Flip 6 if you want a better camera and battery.

How is the Flip 5 different from the Flip 4?

The cover screen grew from 1.9 to 3.4 inches and now runs full apps. The hinge closes flat with no gap, and the chip moved to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The battery stayed at 3700 mAh.

How long does the battery last?

Expect about a day of moderate use, less with heavy video or gaming. The 3700 mAh cell charges at 25W wired and supports wireless charging. Many owners top it up in the late afternoon.

Does it work with any carrier?

This listing is the AT&T model, so check that it is carrier-unlocked before buying if you use another network. It supports 5G, nano SIM and eSIM. Unlocked versions sold elsewhere work with major US carriers.

Samsung ships the phone with a USB-C cable and SIM tool; there is no charger in the box. You need your own USB-C power adapter, and a case is sold separately.

When is the Flip 5 cheapest?

Foldable prices drop around new-model launches and Black Friday. The current $699.97 at Target is already near the lowest new price seen, so waiting mainly makes sense if you want the Flip 6 or Flip 7 instead.
