Our take on the Sand & Stable Scarlett Executive Desk with Built-In Electrical Outlet

The Sand & Stable Scarlett is a two-tone executive desk in brown wood with a rustic white finish, sold with a built-in electrical outlet and storage drawers. The outlet lets you charge a laptop or phone without running a cable to the wall, which is the main reason buyers pick it over a plain writing desk. It is a home-office piece rather than a commercial one, so expect assembly and a modest footprint. Its 4.3 rating from 155 ratings puts it among the better-reviewed desks in this price tier.

Questions and answers

Is the built-in outlet worth it?: If you work at the desk with a laptop or phone, yes. It removes the need for an extension cord or a wall outlet nearby. If you only write or read there, a plain desk will do.
How does it compare with a standard writing desk?: It adds drawers and an electrical outlet, and it is larger and heavier. A plain writing desk is cheaper and easier to move but gives you no storage or power.
Does it need assembly?: Yes. It ships flat and has to be put together, so set aside time and a second person for the desk body.
What are the dimensions?: Check the listing for the exact width, depth and height before buying. Executive desks of this type are typically wider than a basic desk, so measure your space first.
When is it cheapest?: Desks like this usually drop during seasonal furniture sales and clearance events. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
What do buyers say about the Sand & Stable Scarlett Executive Desk with Built-In Electrical Outlet?: Rated 4.3 out of 5 from 155 ratings.
