Our take on the Saucony Flash XT

The Saucony Flash XT is a kids' low-top sneaker with a breathable mesh and leather upper, a lace-up closure, and a reinforced round toe cap. It weighs about 6.72 oz, which is light for a kids' athletic shoe, and uses a polyurethane insole. It is sold as a unisex shoe for little kids and big kids. No current price or price history was provided, so I can't say where its latest best price stands against its recent range.

Questions and answers

Is the Saucony Flash XT good for everyday school wear?
Yes. It is a light, breathable low-top sneaker with a reinforced toe cap, which suits daily wear. The mesh upper is not waterproof, so it is a poor pick for rainy days.
Does the Flash XT run true to size?
Saucony kids' shoes generally run close to standard US kids' sizing, but fit varies by foot width. Try them on with the socks your child wears to school before keeping them.
Are these easy for a young kid to put on?
They are lace-up only, with no velcro strap. That makes them a better fit for big kids who can tie their own laces than for little kids.
How does the Flash XT compare with the Saucony Cohesion kids' shoe?
Both are light everyday sneakers. The Flash XT uses a leather outsole and a mesh-and-leather upper, while the Cohesion line typically uses a rubber outsole, which grips better on wet ground.
Is the leather outsole durable?
Leather outsoles wear well on pavement and indoors but are softer and less abrasion-resistant than rubber. Expect faster wear if your child uses them for serious sports.
When is the Flash XT cheapest?
Kids' Saucony models usually drop during back-to-school sales and end-of-season clearances. No current price or price history was provided, so check the price comparison before buying.
