Is the Horicon Sport worth it for a beginner?

Yes, if you want an affordable way onto gravel and mixed surfaces. The aluminum frame, disc brakes and wide tires cover basic riding without a big spend. Expect to upgrade if you get serious about speed or long climbs.

Can it handle rough gravel?

It is rated for rough gravel surfaces, and the 45c tires help. The rigid frame and fork pass chatter through, so tire pressure and rider comfort matter. It is better on packed gravel and dirt than on rocky singletrack.

What gearing does it have?

It uses a 1x8 drivetrain with a single front chainring and eight rear speeds. That keeps shifting simple but gives a narrower range than a 2x setup. Steep climbs and fast paved descents are where you will notice the limit.

Does it come with racks or bottles?

No. The frame has numerous mounts for racks, bottle cages and other accessories, but those are added separately. Check the mount points you need before buying bags or racks.

What size rider fits the 700c model?

The 700c refers to wheel size, not frame size. Fit depends on the frame size you choose and your inseam, so check the brand's size chart. The seat height is adjustable.

When is the price lowest?

Gravel bikes like this tend to drop during end-of-season clearance and holiday sales. Watch the price history on this page to see whether the current price is near its recent low.
