Our take on the Scorpion EXO EXO-ST1400 Evo Carbon Hex Helmet

The Scorpion EXO-ST1400 Evo Carbon is a full-face motorcycle helmet with a resin-infused TCT-U 3K carbon fiber shell, a Pinlock MaxVision shield and the Airfit inflatable cheek-pad system. It weighs about 5 lb and carries ECE approval, so it suits street and sport riders who want a light carbon lid with a drop-down-free, race-style layout. The best new price is $219 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with two stores listing it new; that is well below what carbon-shell helmets usually cost, so it sits at the low end of its recent range.

Questions and answers

Is the Scorpion EXO-ST1400 Evo Carbon worth it at $219?
At $219 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is cheap for a carbon-shell full-face helmet. If you want low weight and ECE approval and do not need a sun visor, it is a strong buy.
How does it compare with the standard EXO-ST1400?
The Evo Carbon swaps the polycarbonate shell for a TCT-U 3K carbon composite, which cuts weight. The fit system, Airfit pads and Ellip-Tec II closure carry over.
Does it have a sun visor or Pinlock insert?
There is no internal drop-down sun visor. The shield is Pinlock MaxVision ready, but check the box contents because the insert is often sold separately.
What sizes does it come in?
Listings here show XL and 2XL only, sized for head circumferences of about 21.6 to 22.0 in. The shell is an intermediate oval shape.
Is it DOT approved for US riders?
The listed safety standard is ECE only. If you need DOT certification for US street use, confirm it with the seller before buying.
When is it cheapest?
Carbon helmets usually drop during end-of-season and closeout sales. The current $219 at eBay is already near the bottom of its recent range, so waiting may not save much.
