Our take on the Seiko 5 Sports Field GMT Watch SSK025

The Seiko 5 Sports Field GMT SSK025 is a 39.4mm automatic field watch with a true GMT hand, a compass-style inner bezel and a fabric strap. It runs Seiko's 4R34 movement with about 41 hours of power reserve and 100m water resistance. Its best new price is $348 at Time Square Clock Shop as of November 5, 2026, near the low end of what the four new listings ask.

Questions and answers

Is the SSK025 worth it over a cheaper Seiko 5?
You pay extra for the GMT hand and the smaller 39.4mm case. If you don't travel or track a second time zone, a plain three-hand Seiko 5 costs less.
How does it compare with the SSK001?
The SSK001 is a 42.5mm dive-style GMT on a bracelet. The SSK025 is smaller at 39.4mm, has a field dial and comes on a fabric strap.
Does the GMT hand work independently?
Yes. The 4R34 is a true GMT, so the local hour hand jumps without stopping the watch, and the 24-hour hand stays set to home time.
What's in the box?
The watch on a fabric strap, a Seiko box and papers. No extra bracelet or tools are included.
When is it cheapest?
Best new price is $348 at Time Square Clock Shop as of November 5, 2026. Seiko 5 models often dip during holiday sales and when a new colorway launches.
Where is the Seiko 5 Sports Field GMT Watch SSK025 cheapest?
At Time Square Clock Shop, for $348.00, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Seiko 5 Sports Field GMT Watch SSK025?
Rated 4.6 out of 5 from 63 ratings.
Where can I buy the Seiko 5 Sports Field GMT Watch SSK025?
13 stores we checked sell it, including Time Square Clock Shop, Sarasota Watches, Walmart, eBay, AZZI Jewelers.
