Is the Shark SpeedStyle Pro worth it over a basic dryer?

If you want multiple heat and speed settings plus ionic frizz control, it offers more adjustability than a budget two-setting dryer. Basic dryers cost less but give you less control over heat damage.

How does it compare with the Dyson Supersonic?

The Shark costs far less and weighs about the same, but the Dyson has a more advanced motor and more attachments. The Shark is the better value if you do not need Dyson's accessory ecosystem.

Can I use it in Europe or the UK?

No. It is a 120-volt, 14.6-amp model built for North American outlets. A plug adapter alone will not make it safe abroad; you would need a voltage converter.

How many heat and speed settings does it have?

It has five heat settings and three speed settings, plus ionic conditioning. That range lets you dry on high heat and finish on a cooler setting.

The dryer comes with its standard concentrator nozzle. Check the listing for any extra attachments, since bundles vary by retailer.

Our take on the Shark SpeedStyle Pro Ionic Hair Dryer HD731

The Shark SpeedStyle Pro Ionic HD731 is a 1,750-watt hair dryer with five heat settings, three speeds and ionic conditioning to cut frizz. It weighs 1.65 lbs with a 2.4 m cord, so it is light enough for daily use and long enough to reach across a bathroom. Shark positions it as a mid-range alternative to salon-brand dryers, and its price typically sits well below premium Dyson models.
