- Does the Vortex need replacement filters?
- No. It is an ionic unit with no filter to replace, so ongoing cost is just electricity.
- Is it safe to run around pets and children?
- Ionic purifiers emit a small amount of ozone. People with asthma or ozone sensitivity should check with a doctor before using one in a bedroom or nursery.
- Will it handle an 800-square-foot room?
- The 800-square-foot figure is the manufacturer's coverage claim. Ionic units move little air, so expect the strongest effect close to the unit.
- How does it compare with a HEPA purifier?
- HEPA units with a fan capture particles and are backed by clean air delivery rate ratings. The Vortex is quieter and filter-free but has no comparable particle-removal rating.
- Is $149.99 a good price?
- It is the only new price listed, $149.99 at SharperImage as of November 6, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge it against. Compare it with HEPA purifiers for the same room size before buying.
- Where is the Sharper Image Vortex Ionic Air Purifier cheapest?

- What do buyers say about the Sharper Image Vortex Ionic Air Purifier?
