Our take on the Shokz OpenFit Air 2 Open Earbuds

The Shokz OpenFit Air 2 is an open-ear wireless earbud pair that rests over the ear canal instead of sealing inside it, so you hear your surroundings while listening. It has a built-in microphone, Bluetooth, and water resistance for workouts and commutes. At $129.95 at Shokz as of November 3, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, with only one store pricing it new.

Questions and answers

Is the OpenFit Air 2 worth $129.95?
If you want open-ear earbuds for running or all-day wear, it is a fair price and undercuts Shokz's bone-conduction models. If you want deep bass or noise cancellation, spend elsewhere.
How is it different from the original OpenFit Air?
The Air 2 is the second generation of Shokz's cheaper open-ear line, positioned below the OpenFit 2. Expect similar fit and sound character with refinements rather than a redesign.
Does it block outside noise?
No. The open design lets sound in by intent, so you hear traffic and conversation. There is no active noise cancellation.
Can I use it for calls and workouts?
Yes. It has a microphone for calls and is water resistant, so sweat and light rain are fine. It is not built for swimming.
What comes in the box?
Expect the earbuds, a charging case, a USB charging cable, and paperwork. Check the listing for the exact bundle before ordering.
When is it cheapest?
Open-ear earbuds usually drop during Black Friday and back-to-school sales. At $129.95 it is at the top of its recent range, so waiting for a sale is reasonable.
Where is the Shokz OpenFit Air 2 Open Earbuds cheapest?
At Shokz, for $129.95, as of our latest check.
