Is this kit worth it over buying tools separately?

For light home use, yes: five brushless tools, two batteries, a charger and a case usually cost less together than buying the drill and impact driver alone. Skip it if you need 18V power for decking or framing.

How does it compare with Skil's 20V tools?

The 12V kit is smaller and lighter but has less torque and runtime. Choose 20V if you drill into masonry or drive long screws all day; choose 12V for assembly and around-the-house fixes.

How long do the 2.0Ah batteries last?

Expect roughly an hour or two of intermittent drilling and driving per charge, less in the oscillating multi-tool, which draws more current. Having two batteries lets you swap and keep working.

What comes in the box?

The drill driver, impact driver, oscillating multi-tool, LED light, Bluetooth speaker, two 2.0Ah batteries, a charger and a carrying case. Bits and blades are not included.

Can I use other Skil 12V batteries in these tools?

Yes, the tools use the PWRCore 12 battery system, so any Skil 12V PWRCore battery fits. Higher-capacity packs add runtime but also weight.

When is the best time to buy?

Combo kits like this drop most during Black Friday, Father's Day and spring home-improvement sales. Check the price history chart and buy when it sits near the low end of its recent range.

Our take on the Skil cb736801 PWRCore 12 Brushless 5-Tool Combo Kit

The Skil CB736801 PWRCore 12 combo kit bundles five 12V brushless tools — drill driver, impact driver, oscillating multi-tool, LED light and Bluetooth speaker — with two 2.0Ah batteries, a charger and a case. The brushless motors and 1,100 in-lbs of torque (as rated) put it above typical entry-level 12V kits, and the speaker is an unusual extra for a tool bundle. It suits light household and furniture work rather than heavy construction. No current price was provided for this page, so check the live comparison against its recent range before buying.
