Our take on the SmartYard 12-Lumen Solar Bollard Light with Tree Design LED 2-Pack

The SmartYard Solar Bollard Light is a two-pack of floor-mounted LED path lights with a tree cutout that casts a patterned glow. Each runs on a built-in solar panel, so there is no wiring, and the warm white LED output is rated at 12 lumens per light. The waterproof housing comes in black, bronze and geometric finishes. It is a low-cost, low-output accent light rather than a security light.

Questions and answers

How bright are these lights?
Each light is rated at 12 lumens, which is enough to outline a path but not to illuminate an area. Treat them as decorative accents, not security lighting.
Do they need direct sunlight?
Yes. The solar panel needs several hours of direct sun to charge the battery for a night's run. In shade or on cloudy days, expect shorter runtime.
Are they waterproof?
The listing describes the housing as waterproof for outdoor use. They are designed for garden beds and path edges, not for full submersion.
What comes in the box?
The pack contains two bollard lights with built-in solar panels and LEDs. Check the listing for whether ground stakes are included before buying.
Can I mount them on a wall or fence?
No. The mounting type is floor, so they stake into soil or sit at ground level. They are not designed for wall or post mounting.
When is the best time to buy?
Solar garden lights usually see the deepest discounts in late summer and early fall as stores clear seasonal stock. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
