Is the Bravia Theatre Bar 9 worth it?

If you want convincing surround from one bar and own a recent Bravia TV, it is one of the strongest single-bar options. If deep bass matters, budget for a subwoofer on top of the $1,498.00 price at Abt Electronics & Appliances as of November 5, 2026.

Does it come with a subwoofer?

No. The box has the bar, remote, warranty and guides. Sony's SW3 or SW5 wireless subwoofer and RS3R or SA-RS5 rear speakers are sold separately.

Does it work with non-Sony TVs?

Yes. It connects over HDMI eARC and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X from any compatible TV. The center-channel boost and TV-menu control need a compatible Bravia TV.

Is it good for PS5 gaming?

Yes. It passes 4K120, VRR and ALLM through its HDMI input, so console video features reach the TV while the bar handles the sound.

How many speakers does it have?

Thirteen speaker units, including front, center, up-firing and side-firing drivers plus beam tweeters. The system is rated at 585 W maximum.
