Our take on the Sony PlayStation 5 Disc Edition Console (PS5)

The PlayStation 5 Disc Edition is Sony's full-size current-generation console, with an 825 GB ultra-high-speed SSD, 4K HDR output, Tempest 3D AudioTech and a built-in Ultra HD Blu-ray drive. It plays both physical discs and digital downloads, and ships with a DualSense wireless controller and ASTRO's PLAYROOM pre-installed. The disc model costs more than the Digital Edition but lets you buy, resell and borrow used discs. This listing is the launch CFI-1000 model group, which runs hotter and draws more power than later revisions.

What is the difference between CFI-1000 and later models?: CFI-1000 is the launch model. Later revisions use a smaller heatsink and draw less power, so they tend to run cooler and slightly quieter.
Does it need a 4K TV?: No. It works on 1080p TVs, but you only get 4K and HDR output with a compatible 4K HDR display and HDMI 2.1 for 120 Hz.
