Our take on the Sorel Men's Mac Hill Lite Trace Waterproof

The Sorel Mac Hill Lite Trace is a men's lace-up winter boot with a suede upper, a waterproof membrane and a molded rubber outsole. It has a shoe-like profile with a 4 3/4-inch shaft and a 1 1/4-inch heel, built for walking around the city in cold, wet weather. The best new price is $72.00 at Willi's Ski and Snowboards as of November 5, 2026, with only one store pricing it new, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the Sorel Mac Hill Lite Trace actually waterproof?
Yes. Sorel lists it as waterproof with a waterproof membrane construction, so it handles rain, slush and wet pavement.
How tall is the boot?
The shaft is 4 3/4 inches with a 1 1/4-inch heel. It sits at ankle height, so it is a city boot rather than a deep-snow boot.
What is it made of?
A suede leather upper with a textile lining and a molded rubber outsole with ground contact EVA.
Is $72 a good price?
$72.00 at Willi's Ski and Snowboards as of November 5, 2026 is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to judge it against. It is a moderate price for a waterproof suede boot.
Can I wear it in heavy snow?
Not well. The low shaft and shoe-like build suit city streets and light snow, not deep drifts.
How does it fit?
It is a lace-up boot with a round toe and stability-focused sole. Sorel boots generally run true to size, but try your usual size first.
