Is STA-BIL Storage worth it for winter storage?

Yes, if you store gas-powered equipment for months at a time. It costs about $13.58 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, and one bottle treats up to 80 gallons, so a single bottle covers several seasons of small-engine use.

How much do I add per gallon?

Use 1 oz per 2.5 gallons of gas. Add it to the gas can before filling so every tank you pour is treated.

Does it work with ethanol gas?

Yes. STA-BIL Storage is formulated for all gasoline, including ethanol and non-ethanol blends, and helps with moisture that ethanol attracts.

Can I use it in a 2-cycle engine?

Yes, it is safe for 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines. Mix it into the gas, not the oil, and keep your normal oil ratio.

How long does treated fuel stay fresh?

Up to 24 months in a sealed container. Fuel already in a tank or carburetor is protected for the storage period but should still be run through before long storage.

Prices vary by store and season. The current best new price is $13.58 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, and five stores list it new.
