Our take on the Staples Ergonomic Task Chair Faux Leather

The Staples Ergonomic Task Chair is a manager's chair with a padded Luxura faux-leather seat and back, adjustable task arms, a reclining back and a steel five-star base on casters. It is built for home-office use up to about five hours a day, not all-day seating. The seat adjusts from 17.6 to 21.4 inches, which suits most standard desks. At $109.99 at Staples as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price tracked, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Best forHome-office workers seated up to 5 hours a dayShoppers who want a leather-look chair on a budgetStandard-height desks (seat tops out at 21.4 inches)Mixed carpet and hard floors
Pros
  • Padded Luxura seat and back are easy to wipe clean
  • Adjustable task arms take pressure off the shoulders
  • Reclining back for breaks between tasks
  • Steel base is sturdier than the plastic frames on many chairs at this price
  • Casters are rated for both carpet and hard floors
Cons
  • Faux leather traps heat and gets sticky in warm rooms
  • Rated for only about 5 hours of use a day
  • No headrest, lumbar depth adjustment or seat-depth slider
  • Plastic and nylon frame parts limit long-term durability
  • Only one store prices it new, so there is little price competition

Questions and answers

Is the Staples Ergonomic Task Chair worth it?
At $109.99 at Staples as of November 4, 2026, it is a reasonable buy for a home office used a few hours a day. If you sit 8 hours a day, spend more on a chair with a mesh back and real lumbar adjustment.
How long can I sit in it each day?
Staples rates it for up to about 5 hours of use per day. Beyond that, the foam and faux leather are likely to wear faster.
Will the seat height fit my desk?
The seat adjusts from 17.6 to 21.4 inches. That fits most desks 28 to 30 inches high for average-height users; very tall users may want a higher-lift chair.
Does it work on hardwood floors?
Yes. The casters are rated for both carpet and hard floors, though a chair mat still helps protect wood.
What is included in the box?
The chair ships unassembled with the seat, back, arms, base, casters and hardware. Assembly takes most people 20 to 30 minutes.
When is it cheapest?
Staples runs chair promotions around back-to-school and Black Friday. The current $109.99 is the only new price tracked as of November 4, 2026, so watch for a sale before assuming it will drop.
Where is the Staples Ergonomic Task Chair Faux Leather cheapest?
At Staples, for $109.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Staples Ergonomic Task Chair Faux Leather?
Rated 4.5 out of 5 from 4,600 ratings.
