Is this notebook worth it over a cheaper store brand?

It is a standard wide-ruled notebook with a divider, so the main draw is convenience and multipack pricing. If you only need one, a basic notebook costs less; if you are buying for a full year, the multipack is the better value.

Wide ruled or college ruled?

This is wide ruled, with about 11/32 inch line spacing. Choose it for larger handwriting or elementary and middle school use; college ruled fits more lines per page for smaller writing.

What is the divider for?

The divider splits the 100 sheets into two sections, so you can keep class notes and homework, or two subjects, in one notebook.

Does it fit in a standard binder?

At 8 x 10.5 inches it is larger than a three-hole-punched filler sheet and is not designed for a ring binder. Carry it on its own or in a backpack sleeve.

Back-to-school season in July and August is when Staples and other retailers discount multipacks most. Buying outside that window usually means paying list price.

Our take on the Staples Premium 1-Subject Notebook 8 x 10.5 Wide Ruled 100 Sheets

A single-subject spiral notebook from Staples with 100 wide-ruled sheets and a built-in divider. The 8 x 10.5 inch pages give more writing room than a standard composition book, and the divider helps separate class notes from homework. It is a basic school and office supply, so pricing moves with back-to-school season; stock up in late summer when multipacks are discounted.
