Our take on the Steelite 4951Q533 6 3/4 oz Canning Jar, Regular Mouth Lid, 1 Dozen

The Steelite 4951Q533 is a 6.75 oz round glass canning jar with a regular-mouth lid, sold by the dozen. Its 3.5-inch diameter and 3.38-inch height make it a small jar, and 6.75 oz is not a standard canning size, so it is better suited to jams, sauces, samples and gifts than to bulk preserving. Steelite backs the rim with a lifetime edge-chip warranty, which is unusual for canning glass.

Questions and answers

Is 6.75 oz a standard canning size?
No. Standard canning jars are typically 4, 8, 12 or 16 oz, so this size falls between common options. It works for small batches but recipes written for half-pint jars will not fill it evenly.
Can I use these jars for water-bath canning?
The jars are glass with regular-mouth lids, but the listing does not state that they are rated for heat processing. Check the manufacturer's guidance before boiling or pressure canning; many small decorative jars are intended for refrigerator or dry storage only.
Do regular-mouth lids fit?
Yes. The jar uses a regular-mouth lid, the same 70 mm size as standard regular-mouth canning jars, so replacement lids and rings are easy to find.
What comes in the box?
One dozen jars, each with a lid included. Rings and bands are not listed separately, so confirm with the seller if you need bands for processing.
What is the lifetime edge-chip warranty?
Steelite covers chips along the jar's rim for the life of the product. Chips on the sealing edge can break the seal, so this coverage matters more on canning glass than on ordinary drinkware.
