Is the Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 good for competitive gaming?

Yes. It has a 1,000Hz polling rate, an optical sensor and a light 77g body, which suit fast-paced games. It lacks the higher-end sensor and lighter shell of premium mice, but at $20.00 at eBay as of November 5, 2026 it is a low-cost option.

Two ways: a 2.4GHz USB receiver (the Aqua Dongle) for low-latency gaming, and Bluetooth for pairing with another device such as a laptop. You can switch between them without re-pairing.

What kind of battery does it use?

It runs on AA batteries rather than a built-in rechargeable cell. SteelSeries rates battery life at over 400 hours, so keep a spare AA on hand.

The listed compatibility is Windows. Bluetooth pairing may work with other devices, but SteelSeries' software and button programming are aimed at Windows.

Is it worth buying at $20.00?

At $20.00 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is near the bottom of its recent price range and cheaper than most stores charge. For a light dual-wireless mouse with long battery life, that is a strong value.

Expect the mouse, the Aqua USB dongle and a battery. A charging cable is not included because the mouse uses AA batteries.
