Our take on the Stegmeier Frontier 1.7" PVC Deck Drain 10' Section with White Top Cap, Case of 8

The Stegmeier Frontier is a 10-foot PVC deck drain with a removable snap-in top cap, sold here as a case of eight sections (80 feet total). It connects to 1 1/2-inch Schedule 40 pipe and is built for patios and decks where you want surface water to run off instead of pooling. The tan body with a white top cap is meant to blend with light decking and pavers. It is a specialty drainage part, so pricing moves with the case quantity rather than with seasonal sales.

Pros
  • Removable snap-in top cap lets you lift the grate to clear debris
  • Case of eight covers 80 linear feet, enough for most residential decks
  • Fits standard 1 1/2-inch Schedule 40 pipe
  • Tan body with white cap blends into light pavers and decking
  • PVC resists rot and corrosion better than metal channel drains
Cons
  • Case-of-eight format is more than a small repair needs
  • Only 1 1/2-inch pipe compatibility limits flow on large drainage areas
  • Tan and white finish may not match dark decking or stone
  • Snap-in cap can be lifted by heavy runoff if the channel is undersized

Questions and answers

Is the Stegmeier Frontier drain worth it?
For a deck or patio project that needs a long run of removable-top drainage, yes. The case of eight covers 80 feet, so the per-foot cost is lower than buying single sections.
How much does it cover?
Each section is 10 feet, and the case has eight, for 80 linear feet total. Plan the layout before ordering, since leftover sections are bulky to store.
What pipe does it connect to?
It is made for 1 1/2-inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Use fittings sized for that pipe, and slope the run toward the outlet.
Can I remove the top cap to clean it?
Yes. The top cap is a snap-in removable piece, so you can lift it out to clear leaves and grit from the channel.
Will the tan color match my deck?
The body is tan with a white top cap, which suits light pavers and composite decking. It will stand out against dark brown or gray surfaces.
When is the best time to buy?
Drainage parts rarely go on deep seasonal discount. Compare case prices across stores and buy when you have the full layout measured.
What do buyers say about the Stegmeier Frontier 1.7" PVC Deck Drain 10' Section with White Top Cap, Case of 8?
