- Is the Sugift 6-person tent worth it?
- For occasional car camping in mild weather, yes: the instant setup and cabin space are hard to beat at this price. If you camp in wind, heavy rain or cold, spend more on a sturdier tent.
- How long does it take to set up?
- The pre-attached poles unfold and lock in a few minutes with two people, and one person can manage it. Staking out the rainfly and guylines adds a few more minutes.
- Does it really sleep six?
- Six people fit only on narrow sleeping pads with no gear inside. For real comfort, plan on four adults or a family of five with bags.
- Can it handle rain?
- The rainfly sheds light to moderate rain, but the budget fabric and partial coverage are not built for sustained storms. Seal the seams and use all guylines if rain is likely.
- How big and heavy is it packed?
- It packs into the included carry bag and is bulky and heavy enough that you will want to park close to the site. It is not a backpacking tent.
- When is it cheapest?
- Its latest best price is already at the low end of its recent range. Instant tents usually drop further around end-of-season sales in late summer and fall.
