Is the Sunbeam Royal Mink Sherpa Heated Throw worth it?

It is a solid pick if you want a soft, washable throw for one person on a couch or chair. At $91.62 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, it is not cheap for a throw, and only one store lists it new, so compare against other Sunbeam throws before buying.

How many heat settings does it have?

Three. There is no separate preheat boost, so plan a few minutes for it to warm up on the higher setting.

Can I wash it in the machine?

Yes. Sunbeam rates it machine washable and dryer safe. Detach the cord and controller first, and wash on a gentle cycle to limit shedding.

Does it shut off on its own?

Yes, it has automatic shut-off, which is the main safety feature for leaving it on while you fall asleep.

Is it big enough for two people?

No. It is a throw, not a bed blanket, so it suits one person on a couch or chair. For a couple, look at a full-size heated blanket instead.

Heated blankets usually drop in late fall and around Black Friday. With only one store listing it new as of November 7, 2026, watch that listing rather than expecting a store-to-store price war.

The Sunbeam Royal Mink Sherpa Heated Throw is a corded electric throw blanket with a plush sherpa face and three heat settings. It has an automatic shut-off and is machine washable and dryer safe, which matters for a blanket that gets daily use. The throw weighs 5.5 lb, so it stays put on a couch or bed.
