Our take on the Sunny Heat Electric Heated Blanket Flannel

The Sunny Heat Electric Heated Blanket Flannel is an 84-by-62-inch polyester throw with four heat settings, auto-off and overheat protection, ETL certified. It weighs about 5 lb, so it is a bed or sofa blanket rather than a wearable wrap. Its 3.6 out of 5 from 1,200 ratings puts it mid-pack for heated blankets. No current price was provided, so check the live comparison before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the Sunny Heat heated blanket worth it?
It is a reasonable budget pick if you want a large blanket with auto-off and overheat protection. At 3.6 out of 5, expect mixed long-term reliability. Compare its live price against better-rated throws before deciding.
How big is it and will it fit a queen bed?
It measures 84 by 62 inches, which covers the top of a queen bed with some overhang. It is a throw-style blanket, not a fitted electric mattress pad.
Does it shut off automatically?
Yes. It has auto-off and overheat protection, and it is ETL certified. That makes it safer to leave on while falling asleep than blankets without those features.
Can I wash it?
Most heated blankets with attached controllers are spot-clean only or washable only after detaching the controller. Follow the care label; never immerse the wiring or controller.
How many heat settings does it have?
Four. That is enough for low, medium and high comfort, but there is no separate zone control for two sleepers.
When is it cheapest?
Heated blankets usually drop in price in late fall and around Black Friday, and again in late winter clearance. Check the price history on this page before buying.
