Our take on the Superior 8 Piece Towel Set, Rayon From Bamboo and Cotton

The Superior 8 Piece Towel Set is a mixed rayon-from-bamboo and cotton set that includes washcloths, hand towels and fingertip towels. The bamboo blend gives it a softer, more absorbent feel than all-cotton towels, and it is sold as a coordinated set rather than piece by piece. The latest best price is $34.99 at Amazon as of November 3, which sits near the low end of its recent range.

Questions and answers

Is this towel set worth it?
At $34.99 at Amazon as of November 3, it is a fair price for eight bamboo-blend pieces. Expect softness and value rather than long-term durability.
How does bamboo blend compare to pure cotton?
The bamboo rayon adds softness and absorbency, but pure long-staple cotton usually holds up longer and pills less.
What is included in the set?
The set covers washcloths, hand towels and fingertip towels. Check the listing for the exact count of each before buying.
How should I wash these towels?
Wash in cold or warm water with like colors and tumble dry low. Avoid fabric softener, which reduces absorbency in bamboo blends.
When is the best time to buy?
Prices on this set move with seasonal home sales. The current $34.99 at Amazon is near its recent low, so waiting rarely saves much.
