Our take on the Surya Forum FM-7159 Area Rug

The Surya Forum FM-7159 is a round, 8-foot hand-tufted wool rug with a modern design and a medium 0.39-inch pile. Its 96-inch round size suits a dining table, a large seating group or an open foyer where a rectangular rug would fight the room's shape. Hand-tufted wool at this size is a serious purchase, and the only new price listed is $1,585 at Dining Rooms Outlet as of November 4, 2026, with no other new-store price to compare against.

Best forRooms that call for a round rug, such as under a round dining tableLiving rooms and foyers with high foot trafficBuyers who want a modern look in natural woolAnyone furnishing a large open space around 8 feet across
Pros
  • Hand-tufted wool, a durable natural fiber
  • Round 96-inch shape fits round tables and open layouts
  • Medium 0.39-inch pile is comfortable but not shaggy
  • Modern styling that suits contemporary rooms
  • About 0.5 inch thick, so it sits under most furniture legs
Cons
  • Spot clean only with water, so no deep cleaning or wet shampooing
  • Wool can shed and needs a pad to stay put
  • Only one new price listed, so there is little to compare
  • $1,585 is a high outlay for a single rug
  • Round rugs limit furniture layouts compared with rectangles

Questions and answers

Is the Surya Forum FM-7159 worth $1,585?
That is the only new price listed, $1,585 at Dining Rooms Outlet as of November 4, 2026. Hand-tufted wool at 8 feet round is priced in this range, but with one store listed you have no competing new price to check against.
What size room does a 96-inch round rug fit?
At 96 inches across, it covers an 8-foot circle. That fits a round dining table for four to six, or a seating group in a room at least 12 feet wide.
How do I clean a hand-tufted wool rug?
Surya lists spot cleaning with water only. Blot spills right away and avoid wet shampooing or machine cleaning, which can distort the tufted pile.
Does it need a rug pad?
Yes. A pad keeps the wool from sliding on hard floors, adds cushioning under the 0.39-inch pile and helps the rug wear evenly.
Will the wool shed?
New hand-tufted wool rugs usually shed loose fibers for the first few weeks. Vacuum gently without a beater bar and shedding should taper off.
When is the best time to buy?
Rug prices often drop during seasonal home sales and around major holiday promotions. Check the price history before buying, since only one new price is listed now.
Where is the Surya Forum FM-7159 Area Rug cheapest?
