Our take on the Tag Gateway 2.0 3 Piece Hard side Spinner Luggage Set

The Tag Gateway 2.0 is a three-piece hardside spinner set made of ABS plastic, with TSA-approved locks, 2-inch expansion on the main case and color-pop zippers and wheels. The largest case measures 28 inches tall and the set weighs about 21 pounds total. It is a budget-tier set, and its 2.3-out-of-5 rating across 301 ratings is well below what most luggage in this class earns, so check the return policy before buying.

Best for
Budget travelers who need three cases at once
Families packing for a group trip
Occasional flyers who want TSA locks
Buyers who prefer hardside shells over fabric
Pros
  • Three nesting sizes cover short and long trips
  • ABS hardshell resists light rain and splashes
  • TSA-approved locks on the cases
  • 2-inch expansion adds packing room on the main case
  • Spinner wheels roll upright through airports
Cons
  • 2.3 out of 5 from 301 ratings is a weak owner record
  • ABS is the least durable hardshell plastic; it can crack under rough handling
  • About 21 pounds for the set adds to airline weight limits
  • Only the main case lists expansion; the smaller cases do not
  • No listed warranty or customer support details

Questions and answers

Is the Tag Gateway 2.0 set worth it?
Only if the price is very low and you fly rarely. Its 2.3-out-of-5 rating from 301 ratings suggests durability problems that often cost more in replacements than a better set would.
How does ABS compare with polycarbonate or polypropylene?
ABS is cheaper and stiffer but more brittle. Polypropylene flexes on impact and polycarbonate is stronger still, so both usually outlast ABS under checked-baggage handling.
Does the 28-inch case fit airline checked limits?
At 28 inches tall, 19.3 wide and 9.9 deep it is a standard large checked size, but it sits at or near the limit on some carriers. Confirm your airline's linear-inch rule before packing it full.
Are the wheels and handles replaceable?
No replaceable parts are listed. If a spinner wheel or the telescopic handle breaks, the case is usually out of service.
What is in the box?
The set includes three hardside spinner cases in nesting sizes, with TSA locks and retractable push-button handles. Packing cubes and other accessories are not listed.
When is it cheapest?
Budget luggage sets like this one tend to drop during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Check the price history before buying so you can see whether the current price is near its low.
