Is the TCL QM7K worth it over the QM8?

The QM8 adds more dimming zones, higher brightness and better processing, so it wins for dark-room movie watching. The QM7K makes more sense if you mainly watch in a bright room and want to save money.

Does the 55-inch QM7K support 120 Hz gaming?

Yes. The panel is 120 Hz native, and HDMI 2.1 inputs on this series support 4K at 120 Hz for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Check the specific port labels on the 55-inch model before buying.

Is the screen good in a bright room?

Yes. The QD-Mini LED backlight reaches high brightness and the panel has an anti-glare coating, so daytime viewing holds up better than on standard LED TVs.

The TV, a stand, a remote, batteries and a power cable. A wall mount and HDMI cables are not included.

When is the QM7K cheapest?

TCL TVs typically drop hardest around Black Friday, Super Bowl season and Prime Day. Watch the 55-inch price against its recent low before buying.

Does it work with Alexa and HomeKit?

Yes. It supports Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit, so you can control it by voice from any of those ecosystems.

Our take on the TCL 55’’ QM7K Series QD-Mini LED QLED 4K UHD Smart TV

The TCL QM7K is a QD-Mini LED QLED 4K smart TV sold in 55, 65, 75, 98 and 115 inch sizes. The 55-inch panel runs 3840 x 2160 at 120 Hz with HDR and an anti-glare coating, and it works with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. It sits in TCL's upper-mid range, below the flagship QM8 series, so it is the step-up pick for buyers who want mini-LED brightness without flagship pricing.
