Our take on the TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G 128GB

The TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G is an unlocked budget 5G phone with a 6.78-inch matte NXTPAPER display designed to cut glare and read more like paper. It pairs a 50MP rear camera and 32MP front camera with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage and a fingerprint reader plus face unlock. Its best new price is $199.99 at TCL US as of November 3, 2026, and that is the only price seen since November 1, so there is no cheaper recent low to wait for.

Questions and answers

Is the TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G worth $199.99?
At $199.99 it is a cheap way to get 5G, a big matte screen and a 50MP camera. The 2.9 out of 5 owner rating means you should expect budget-level speed and polish.
Is the screen really 240Hz?
No. The display refresh rate is standard for this class; 240Hz refers to touch sampling, which speeds up touch response. Do not expect a 240Hz panel.
Does it take a microSD card?
Yes. Storage is 128GB and expandable with a microSD card, which helps if you shoot a lot of photos or video.
Can I use two SIM cards?
No. It is listed as single SIM, so you get one line plus the microSD slot.
What is NXTPAPER?
NXTPAPER is TCL's matte display treatment that reduces glare and reflections so the screen looks more like paper. It suits reading outdoors but colors look less glossy and vivid than on a standard screen.
When is it cheapest?
The only price seen since November 1, 2026 is $199.99 at TCL US, so there is no lower recent price to wait for. Watch for holiday discounts, since only one store currently lists it.
