Is the TCL 98-inch Q6 worth it?

For buyers who want the biggest possible screen on a budget, yes. If you care most about deep blacks and premium contrast, a smaller mini-LED set at the same price will look better.

How does the Q6 compare with TCL's QM7 or QM8?

The QM7 and QM8 use mini-LED backlights with far better contrast and brightness. The Q6 costs less but gives up that performance, especially in dark rooms.

Does it support 120 Hz gaming?

Yes, the panel is 120 Hz, which helps with consoles and sports. Check that your HDMI source and cable support the higher refresh rate.

The TV, a stand, a remote and power cable are typically included. A wall mount is not, and at this size you will want a heavy-duty mount rated for the set's weight.

When is the best time to buy?

Large TCL sets see the deepest discounts around Black Friday, Super Bowl season and end-of-model clearance. Watch the price history rather than buying at list.

Our take on the TCL 98" Class Q6 QLED 4K UHD HDR Smart Google TV (2024)

The TCL Q6 is a 98-inch QLED 4K Google TV aimed at buyers who want a wall-filling picture without flagship pricing. It combines a 120 Hz panel, Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound with Google TV and four HDMI inputs. At this size, the Q6 competes mostly with other budget big-screen sets rather than premium mini-LED models. Its price moves with sales, so check the current quote against recent listings before buying.
