Is the TCL 55S425 worth buying?

At $140 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is a cheap way into a 55-inch 4K Roku TV. Expect a solid budget picture, not premium contrast or motion.

Is the 120Hz refresh rate real?

No. The 120Hz CMI is a motion-enhancement figure; the panel itself is a standard 60Hz-class LED display. Fast sports and games will show some blur.

Does it need a streaming stick?

No. Roku is built in, with Netflix, Hulu and 250+ free live channels, plus a tuner for over-the-air TV. You only need Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.

The TV and a simple remote. It does not include a voice remote, so voice control through Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri needs a separate device.

Can I use it with a soundbar or game console?

Yes. It has four HDMI ports, USB, optical audio and Ethernet. A soundbar over optical or HDMI is a common add-on because the built-in speakers are basic.

Budget 4-Series sets tend to drop around Black Friday and back-to-school sales. The current $140 at eBay is already near the low end for a 55-inch 4K TV.
