Our take on the Termo Ps Wooden Attic Ladder

The Termo Ps is a wooden folding attic ladder rated for 9 ft ceilings, with a 15.7 in tread width and a 352 lb load capacity. It is aimed at homeowners who want a sturdier, quieter climb than aluminum pull-down ladders. The wooden construction suits finished garages and hallways where an aluminum ladder would look out of place.

Cons
  • Wood is heavier to pull down and push up

Questions and answers

Is the Termo Ps worth it over an aluminum attic ladder?
If your ceiling is 9 ft and you want a rigid, quiet climb, the wooden build justifies the extra weight. Aluminum is lighter and cheaper but flexes more under load.
What ceiling height does it fit?
It is sized for 9 ft ceilings. Check your rough opening height before ordering, because the ladder length is fixed.
How much weight can it hold?
The rated load capacity is 352 lb, which covers most adults plus carried boxes.
How wide is the climbing area?
The ladder is 15.7 in wide, giving more foot room than many narrow pull-down models.
Does it come assembled?
It ships as a folding ladder unit for installation into a framed attic opening. Confirm the frame and hardware contents with the seller before you buy.
When is the price lowest?
Attic ladders tend to dip during home-improvement sales in spring and around major holiday promotions. Check the price history before buying.
