Is the Thumb Camera worth $19.99?

At $19.99 it is a cheap novelty camera, not a serious imaging tool. Buy it for fun or as a gift, not for photos you plan to keep or print.

What resolution does it record?

It records 1080p HD video and takes still photos. The tiny lens and sensor mean quality drops sharply indoors and in low light.

How do I charge it and how long does the battery last?

It has a built-in rechargeable battery, so there is nothing to swap. Runtime is short, so charge it before an outing and expect to top it up often.

What comes in the box?

The camera itself with its carabiner clip. A charging cable is not confirmed, so check the listing before you buy.

Can I use it as a dashcam or security camera?

No. It has no mounting, loop recording or night vision, and the battery is too small for continuous recording.

It is $19.99 at FIG Phones as of November 5, 2026, the lowest of the two stores listing it new. Watch for holiday sales, when novelty gadgets like this usually dip.

Our take on the Thumb Camera

The Thumb Camera is a novelty micro camera about the size of a thumb, sold by FIG Phones for $19.99 as of November 5, 2026. It records 1080p video and stills through a tiny lens, with push-button controls, a built-in viewfinder, an auto-light sensor and a metal carabiner clip for keys or a bag. At $19.99 it is the lowest new price among the two stores listing it, so there is little to compare on price. Treat it as a toy or a pocket novelty, not a replacement for a phone camera.
