Questions and answers

Is this the same as regular Tide plus Downy?
It is a single detergent with Downy softener built in, so you skip a separate softener. Cleaning comes from the Tide formula; softening and scent come from Downy.
How many loads does the 42 fl oz bottle do?
Tide rates it at 24 loads, which assumes a standard dose. Heavily soiled loads or larger drums will use more and cut that number.
Can I use it in a high-efficiency washer?
Yes. It is labeled HE and is formulated low-suds for front loaders and HE top loaders. Use the dose marked on the cap for your machine size.
Is it worth it at $11.79?
That is the lowest of four new prices as of November 3, 2026, but it works out to about 49 cents a load. Larger Tide bottles usually cost less per wash if you have the storage space.
Does it work in cold water?
Yes, liquid Tide dissolves in cold washes. Cold water also helps keep the Downy scent from fading as fast.
What is in the box?
One 42 fl oz bottle of liquid detergent with a measuring cap. No softener or other extras are included.
