Our take on the Tilmar Fabric Sofa

The Tilmar is a modern fabric sofa with a low, clean silhouette: 81.5 inches wide, 39 inches deep and 28.5 inches tall, with slender track arms and tight, reversible cushions. The frame is hardwood and engineered wood, the seat cushions use 1.8 HR foam with a 1-inch polyester wrap, and the upholstery is polypropylene fabric. Two 21-inch toss pillows are included. The best new price is $890.10 at Macy's as of November 5, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no recent price range to compare against.

Best forLiving rooms with a modern, low-profile lookHouseholds that want washable, durable fabricBuyers who like firm, tight-back seatingShoppers who want toss pillows included
Pros
  • Low 28.5-inch back and slender track arms give a clean modern line
  • Polypropylene fabric resists stains and moisture better than cotton or linen
  • Reversible, removable seat cushions can be flipped and rotated for even wear
  • Hardwood and engineered wood frame is sturdier than all-particleboard builds
  • Two 21-inch toss pillows included at no extra cost
Cons
  • Tight back and 1.8 HR foam sit firm; not a sink-in sofa
  • Plastic legs are a downgrade from wood on a sofa at this price
  • 39-inch depth takes up floor space in smaller rooms
  • Only one store lists it new, so price comparison is limited
  • Polypropylene can feel less soft than woven cotton or linen

Questions and answers

Is the Tilmar sofa good for everyday lounging?
It is built for sitting rather than sinking in. The 1.8 HR foam with a polyester wrap is medium-firm, and the tight back gives less give than loose-back sofas. It suits reading and conversation more than all-day napping.
How does polypropylene fabric hold up?
Polypropylene is a synthetic that resists stains and moisture and cleans up with mild soap and water. It is less breathable and softer to the touch than cotton or linen, so it can feel warm in humid rooms.
Can I remove and wash the cushion covers?
The seat cushions are reversible and detachable, so you can flip and rotate them for even wear. Check the care label before machine washing; spot cleaning is the safer default for polypropylene.
Will it fit through a standard doorway?
The sofa is 81.5 inches wide, so it ships as one piece and needs a clear path. Measure doorways and hallways; a 32-inch door is tight for a sofa this wide, so plan the delivery route first.
What is included with the sofa?
One sofa and two 21-inch by 21-inch toss pillows. The legs are included and attach on delivery; no other accessories are in the box.
Is $890.10 a good price for this sofa?
Only one store, Macy's, lists it new at $890.10 as of November 5, 2026, so there is no competing price to compare. For an 81.5-inch sofa with a hardwood frame and included pillows, that is a mid-range price.
Where is the Tilmar Fabric Sofa cheapest?
At Macy's, for $890.10, 52% off, as of our latest check.
