Our take on the Tombstone Revolver & Holster

A die-cast metal replica revolver with a matching holster, styled after a Wild West six-shooter with a gold star belt buckle. It has a working trigger and hammer and fires 8-shot ring caps. At $22.95 at Rainbow Resource Center as of November 4, 2026, it is the lowest of the three new prices we track. It is a costume and prop piece, not a toy for young children despite the 4+ label.

Pros
  • Die-cast metal body feels heavier and more real than plastic
  • Working trigger and hammer add play value
  • Holster included, so it is ready for a costume
  • 8-shot ring cap capacity means fewer reloads
  • Gold star buckle fits the Tombstone theme
Cons
  • Cap guns are loud and leave smoke and residue
  • Ring caps sell separately and can be hard to find
  • Realistic look means it should not be carried in public
  • 1 lb metal construction can hurt if swung or dropped
  • Not suitable for children under 4 despite the label

Questions and answers

Is it worth $22.95?
Yes if you want a metal replica for a costume or display. At $22.95 at Rainbow Resource Center as of November 4, 2026 it is the cheapest of the three new prices we track, and the die-cast build justifies the price over plastic cap guns.
Does it come with caps?
No. It takes 8-shot ring caps, which you buy separately. Check that your local store stocks ring caps before ordering, since they are less common than they used to be.
Is it safe for a 4-year-old?
The listing says 4+, but this is a 1 lb die-cast metal replica with a working hammer. Most parents will want to supervise closely or wait until age 8 or older.
How big is it?
It measures about 14 inches long, 7.5 inches wide and 2 inches tall, and weighs about 1 lb. That is close to full size, so check it against your costume.
Can I carry it in public?
No. It looks like a real revolver, so keep it to costumes, plays and private property. Carrying it in public can cause a police response.
When is it cheapest?
