It weighs about 0.7 lb, so it is light enough for a preschooler to carry to the sandbox or beach. Questions and answers
- What ages is this sand toy set for?
- It is rated for ages 3 and up. The pieces are sized for preschool hands, so older kids may find the molds small.
- What is included in the 8 pieces?
- The set centers on a bucket, a spade and sand molds, with the remaining pieces filling out the 8-piece count. It does not include a carry bag.
- Is it good for the beach or just the sandbox?
- Both. The plastic rinses clean and the light weight makes it easy to pack for the beach, though thin plastic is best kept off rocky ground.
- Does it come with a storage bag?
- No. There is no mesh bag or case, so plan to bring your own tote if you want the pieces together.
- Is this set worth it compared with a metal sand set?
- For occasional toddler play, yes: it costs little and weighs almost nothing. Metal tools last longer but cost more and are heavier for small kids.
