Questions and answers

Is Trex Transcend Lineage worth the price over cheaper composite?
It costs more than entry-level composite but adds a capped, heat-mitigating surface and a 25-year fade and stain warranty. If you plan to stay in the home and want low upkeep, the premium is easier to justify.
How does Lineage differ from other Trex Transcend lines?
Lineage boards have a heat-mitigating surface and a more natural, variegated look than standard Transcend. The grooved profile and hidden-fastener system work the same way.
What else do I need to install it?
Grooved boards need hidden clips, a starter board and matching fascia or trim. Add joists, blocking and fasteners per Trex's installation guide.
Can I use it around a pool or in full sun?
Yes. The capped surface resists moisture and the heat-mitigating top is designed for sunny decks. It still gets warm in direct sun, so test barefoot comfort before committing.
When is the best time to buy?
Decking usually discounts in late winter and early spring ahead of deck season. The listed price is $99.98 at The Home Depot as of November 5, 2026.
Where is the Trex Transcend Lineage Composite Decking cheapest?
At The Home Depot, for $113.22, as of our latest check.
