Is the Trexonic portable DVD player worth it?

For basic DVD playback on the go at under $50, yes. If you want sharp video or long battery life, a tablet is a better fit.

Does it play Blu-ray discs?

No. It is a DVD player only and will not play Blu-ray discs.

Yes. It has an HDMI output, so you can send video to a larger screen.
