Does it need a box spring?

No. The slatted base is designed to support a twin mattress directly, so a box spring is not required.

What is the weight capacity?

The listing gives conflicting figures: 400 pounds in one line and 250 pounds in another. Treat 250 pounds as the safer limit until the seller confirms.

What size mattress fits?

A standard twin mattress. The frame is twin-sized and sold as frame only, so the mattress is bought separately.

How much storage do the drawers add?

Two drawers run under the bed. They are useful for clothes, toys or bedding, but you need open floor space beside the bed to pull them out.

Is $499.49 a good price?

Only one store lists it new at $499.49 as of November 7, 2026, so there is no lower new price to compare. Check whether the price includes shipping before you buy.

Is it hard to assemble?

It is a wood frame that ships flat and needs assembly. Two people make it easier, especially for attaching the slats and drawers.

Our take on the Twin Slatted Bed With Storage Drawers

The Max & Lily Twin Slatted Bed is a solid pine captain's-style bed with a slatted headboard and two under-bed storage drawers. It is designed to hold a twin mattress without a box spring and to add usable storage in a small room. The best new price is $499.49 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no cheaper new option to compare against.
