Question 1

Is $17.95 the price of a full shade?

Accepted Answer

Probably not. Custom Roman shades are priced by size and fabric, so $17.95 at eBay as of November 7, 2026 likely reflects a sample, a small size or a base listing. Confirm the size and fabric before ordering.

Question 2

How do I measure for a custom Roman shade?

Accepted Answer

Measure the window width and height in three places and use the smallest figure. Decide whether you want the shade inside or outside the window frame, since that changes the width you order.

Question 3

Is a cordless Roman shade safe around kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes. With no hanging cords, it removes the main strangulation hazard of corded blinds, which is why cordless is the usual choice for nurseries and homes with pets.

Question 4

Will linen block enough light for a bedroom?

Accepted Answer

Linen shades filter light rather than black it out. For a bedroom, ask for a blackout lining or plan to layer the shade with curtains.

Question 5

Can I mount it on the ceiling or outside the frame?

Accepted Answer

Most Roman shades can be mounted inside the frame, outside it or on the ceiling. Tell the seller which mount you want when you order, because it affects the measurements.
