Questions and answers

Is the TYR Durafast Elite brief worth it?
Yes, if you swim several times a week. The chlorine-resistant fabric outlasts cheaper nylon briefs, and at $20.09 at ProSwimwear.com as of November 4, 2026, it costs little more than a basic suit.
How does it compare with TYR's Durafast One brief?
Durafast Elite is the heavier, more chlorine-resistant fabric, so it tends to last longer and feel more compressive. Durafast One is lighter and stretches more, which some swimmers prefer for racing.
What size should I order?
Order your usual waist size, but expect a snug fit; some buyers size up. Check TYR's size chart against your waist measurement, since the drawstring lets you tighten but not loosen the suit.
Does it hold up to chlorine?
Yes. The polyester-spandex Durafast Elite fabric is built for repeated chlorine exposure and resists fading and stretching better than nylon suits.
What colors does it come in?
Solid navy, black and royal. All three use the same fabric and cut.
When is the best time to buy?
Prices dip at the start of swim season and during end-of-season clearance. At $20.09 as of November 4, 2026, it is already near the low end of its recent range.
Where is the TYR Men's Durafast Elite Solid Racer Brief cheapest?
At ProSwimwear.com, for $20.09, 48% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the TYR Men's Durafast Elite Solid Racer Brief?
4 stores we checked sell it, including ProSwimwear.com, TYR, Walmart, S&R Sport.
