Is the Charged Assert 9 worth it?

At around $49 to $53 it is a low-risk buy for easy runs, walking and gym work. Runners logging high mileage will want more cushioning.

How does it compare with the Assert 8?

The Assert 9 keeps the same neutral 10mm setup and Charged Cushioning but updates the mesh upper with a digital print. It is an incremental update rather than a redesign.

Does it fit true to size?

It fits regular width and most buyers take their usual size. If you have wide feet, size up or look for a wide version.

Is it good for overpronation?

No. It is a neutral shoe with no stability posting. Overpronators should look at a support shoe instead.

What is the drop and weight?

It has a 10mm heel-to-toe offset and weighs about 9.9 oz. That is a moderate drop and a mid-weight build.

Its recent low was $48.99 on November 1, 2026, against $52.99 on October 31, 2026. Discounts usually deepen around sales events and when a newer model arrives.
