Is $39.99 a good price for this toothbrush?

Yes. At $39.99 at Target as of November 6, 2026, it is at the low end of its recent range across 9 stores. That price includes 12 brush heads, which alone often cost more than a basic brush.

How does it compare with a Sonicare or Oral-B?

It matches the 40,000 strokes per minute of many mid-range sonic brushes and adds a UV station. Premium Sonicare and Oral-B models use lithium-ion batteries and pressure sensors, which this one lacks.

How long does the battery last per charge?

Pursonic does not publish a runtime figure. The Ni-MH battery typically gives about a week or two of twice-daily brushing, and it can lose capacity over years of use.

The handle, the UV cleaning and charging station, 12 bonus brush heads, and 2 hygienic travel caps.

Does the UV station really sanitize the brush head?

It exposes the head to UV light and dries it between uses. Independent evidence that UV sanitizing improves health outcomes is limited, so treat it as a hygiene convenience rather than a medical guarantee.

Is it safe for sensitive gums?

It has a Sensitive Clean mode and is described as enamel-safe. The bristles are medium nylon, so very sensitive users may prefer a soft-bristle head.

About the UV Sanitizing Sonic Toothbrush and Cleaning Station

You know that super clean feeling your mouth has after a visit to the dentist? It’s because they’re able to thoroughly clean your teeth in ways that your manual toothbrush just can’t.

Now you can get that exact same feeling with the TAO Clean Sonic Toothbrush and Cleaning Station. Using state-of-the-art sonic technology and 40,000 tiny brush strokes per minute, this electric toothbrush safely and hygienically cleans your mouth by dislodging debris from your teeth and gums, and efficiently polishing your teeth.

The Sonic electric toothbrush offers two cleaning modes: the recommended Super Clean, and Sensitive Clean, for those with sensitive gums and teeth. To ensure you have the most thorough cleaning experience, we’ve created a map of your mouth (found in the instruction manual) that splits it into quadrants.

Every 30 seconds, the toothbrush briefly pauses so that you know it’s time to move onto the next quadrant of your mouth. A timed cleaning where the brush actually does the work for you, tells you when to move on, and shuts off when you’re done.

But what really sets the TAO Clean Sonic Toothbrush apart from its competitors? It’s the TAO Clean Base Station – a unique charging base for your brush handle that won’t take up a lot of space on your vanity, it also cleans and dries your brush head!

Once you dock your damp toothbrush after brushing your teeth, the 360 degree TAO Clean Halo uses powerful UV-C rays to kill 99.9% of bacteria, and then the built-in dryer wicks away any moisture from the brush to ensure that no germs or bacteria stand a chance.

After all, what’s the point of using a toothbrush to brush your teeth if you’re not going to keep the brush itself clean?
